Dear Downtown Stakeholder,

Thanks to you, the recently completed first phase of our Downtown Livability
Code process to review and update Downtown zoning provided invaluable
feedback and insight into issues facing Downtown Atlanta today and
strategies to help make Downtown even better tomorrow.

If you were not able to attend any or all of the Focus Area meetings,
detailed notes from the meetings are now posted on our website. Please
point your browser to http://www.centralatlantaprogress.org/live_code.html
and click on the Focus Area Meetings link.

You will see how much interesting discussion we've had to this point on
Downtown issues and how much more debate is yet to come. As the process
proceeds into Phase II - the actual crafting of the zoning code - we will
rely not only on the ideas and input from the Focus Area Meetings, but also
comments and suggestions from any interested stakeholders.

topics as:

Streetscape character
Ground-level retail
Design of parking garages, surface parking requirements and on-street
parking
Street trees and lighting
Development density
Incentives for housing and open space
Sidewalk dining
Historic preservation

Or anything else that you can think of that may contribute to a more vital,
livable Downtown. After all, a downtown is only as dynamic as those who
live, work and play in it, so we want to extend a hearty invitation to join
our initiative to reinvigorate Downtown Atlanta.
